There's essentially no chance Johnson opts out this summer. Johnson signed a 4-year, $50 million contract in 2016, that was backloaded due to the Gilbert Arenas provision. His agents, Ty Sullivan & Austin Brown of CAA Sports, will recommend he opt in and prepare for free agency in 2020, which will almost certainly result in a significant paycut for Johnson.
