Powell is having a nice start to the season, and has shown he is a low-end starter, high-end backup level center. I'm sure Powell would like to find a situation where he could be the starting center, but those situations will be rare, and Powell won't have the luxury of knowing whether DeAndre Jordan will be returning to Dallas before he must make a decision on his option. It will be a tough market for centers next summer, so I think his agent, Mike George of One Legacy Sports Management, will advice him to opt in to the final year of his contract.
