2025 Free Agents - Sandro Mamukelashvili

After getting drafted late in the 2nd round in 2021 by the Bucks, Mamukelashvili spent a season and a half with the Bucks before getting waived and picked up by the Spurs. He has probably shown more than expected for the 54th pick, but he still has more to prove in order to stick in the NBA. Although Mamukelashvili has shown flashes of skill as a passer and playmaker, the efficiency numbers have been poor. from a scoring standpoint his 58% true shooting is below-average for a big, and he has only hit 36% of his threes while really struggling to finish at the rim. If those numbers can improve, it gives him a more complete offensive package to go along with his ability to facilitate from the elbows and put the ball on the floor when defenses close out to him. At 6'11" with a 7'0" wingspan, Mamukelashvili is not long, and his block rate has been poor for a big. It's hard to picture him being a high-level rim protector and anchoring a good defense. He will also already be 26 years old as a free agent in 2025, so he's not exactly a super young prospect.

Summary

Mamukelashvili will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2.3 million cap hold and Full Bird rights, meaning the Spurs will have no restrictions on re-signing him. Other teams will have multiple ways to sign Mamukelashvili as even teams without cap space could use any of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Room MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or Bi-Annual Exception to sign him. It's also likely that he only gets minimum offers, and he may not even get fully-guaranteed offers.

Cap Considerations

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Partially-guaranteed minimum, 2023) Luke Kornet (1 year minimum, 2024) Orlando Robinson (Partially-guaranteed minimum, 2024)
