2025 Free Agents - Colin Castleton

After a five-year college career at Michigan and Florida, Castleton went undrafted in 2023 and has already played for four teams in two years. He has been productive in the G-League, averaging around 17 points and 10 rebounds per game on decent efficiency. He can make plays off the dribble pretty well for a center, and overall has a solid skillset to work with. He has shown flashes of being able to stretch the floor, but isn't quite there yet, as he has shot poorly from outside on a small number of attempts. He doesn't have a ton of explosiveness to finish at the rim. Defensively, Castleton has a solid block rate, and moves pretty well for his size. He has good instincts in drop coverage defensively, and is able to switch onto the perimeter in short doses. Castleton got some solid minutes down the stretch for the Raptors in '24-'25, but they were in full tank mode, and he didn't put up any sort of terrific numbers. He is also already 25 years old, so he's not exactly a young prospect either.

Summary

Castleton's $2.2 million salary for 2025-2026 is non-guaranteed, and if he is waived he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Raptors will have no form of Bird rights on him. If he is waived, any team could claim him off waivers since his contract fits within the minimum salary exception. If Castleton becomes a free agent, other teams will have multiple ways to sign him as even teams without cap space could use any of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Room MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or Bi-Annual Exception to sign him. If Castleton is waived and clears waivers, his value will likely have dropped low enough that he would only have offers for the minimum, and he may not even get fully-guaranteed offers.

Cap Considerations

Jay Huff (4 year minimum, 2024) Anthony Gill (2-1 year minimum, 2024) Mike Muscala (1 year minimum, 2019)
