2022 Free Agents - Kevin Pangos
Summary
Pangos was one of the better guards in Europe and made his NBA debut in '21-'22 at age 28. He put up solid numbers overseas as a play-making guard that can score, create for others, and shoot pretty well from outside.
However, as a smaller guard he struggled with the size and athleticism of the NBA at both ends of the court and never got consistent minutes for the Cavs, even with the injury to Collin Sexton early in the season, and subsequently Ricky Rubio. The Cavs ended up waiving Pangos, and he returned overseas.
Cap Considerations
Pangos was waived by the Cavaliers during the '21-'22 season and did not sign with another NBA team. Teams will have multiple ways to sign Pangos as even teams without cap space could possibly use any of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or the Room MLE or Bi-Annual Exception to sign him.
It's also likely that Pangos only gets minimum offers, and would likely not even get fully-guaranteed offers, should he choose to try and return to the NBA.
Potential Teams: Cavaliers, Wizards, Bulls, Thunder, Timberwolves
Predicted Contract: 1-year, $1.6 million (non-guaranteed) with the Wizards
