2022 Free Agents - Chandler Hutchison

Summary
Hutchison has had a rough start to his career, playing in only 85 games over the course of his first three seasons, and was traded multiple times before being waived by San Antonio before he could even finish his rookie contract. When he has played, it hasn't been all that encouraging. Hutchison signed a two-way contract with Phoenix in 2021, but was unable to get any real minutes and was waived in January.

Hutchison's shot chart isn't pretty as, he's a below-average shooter from every area on the court, and particularly bad from three-point range, as he's only a career 31% shooter from outside. He'll likely have to hit outside shots at a higher rate to have any chance of staying in the league as a rotation-level wing, as he currently just isn't a threat from out there. Hutchison only shot 22% from three in the G-League in '21-'22 on 49 attempts.

Hutchison has some ability to get to the rim, but doesn't finish well and doesn't make plays for others. He rebounds well for his position but hasn't developed into being a solid defender yet.

Cap Considerations
Hutchison was waived by the Suns during the '21-'22 season after signing a two-way contract with Phoenix. Teams will have multiple ways to sign Hutchison as even teams without cap space could possibly use any of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Taxpayer MLE, Room MLE, or Bi-Annual Exception to sign him. It's also likely that Hutchison only gets minimum offers, and may not even get fully-guaranteed offers.

Potential Teams: Pacers, Thunder, Raptors, Trailblazers, Pistons

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $1.9 million (non-guaranteed) with the Pacers
