Summary
Mann was a pleasant surprise for the Clippers in his second season, and had some big breakout games in the playoffs. He's hit 43% from three during the regular season, as the Clippers overall have had one of the best shooting seasons ever. He also finished well at the rim, hitting 69% of hit shots within four feet of the basket, which is very solid for a wing. Mann has good size and quickness that allows him to defend multiple positions.
With his play this season, Mann will certainly not be waived, and the Clippers will have an interesting decision in the summer of 2022 when it comes to Mann's team option for the '22-'23 season, as they could either decline the option to let Mann hit restricted free agency, or pick up the option and have Mann for another cheap season, but Mann would then hit unrestricted free agency in 2023.
Cap Considerations
Mann's $1.8 million salary for 2021-2022 is non-guaranteed, and if he is waived he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Clippers will have no form of Bird rights on him. If he is waived, teams could claim him off waivers, but would need to fit his salary within cap space or an exception to do so, as his contract doesn't fit within the minimum salary exception as it was a four-year contract.
Potential Teams: Clippers
Predicted Contract: Not waived: $1.8 million
