Summary
At age 37, Iguodala is certainly on the downside of his career. However, he can still contribute in important moments, as he's shown with the Warriors and Heat in recent years. While Iguodala cannot play at his highest level often throughout the season, he is still one of the smartest players in the league and has the defensive ability to slow down some of the elite wings in the NBA.

I am a little concerned about Iguodala on the offensive end. His shooting numbers are down across the board, especially with his finishing at the rim. Overall, he's also just not taking many shots. While Iguodala can certainly impact his team without scoring, if he becomes a complete non-threat to score, he may become a liability in the playoffs if teams just ignore him.

Cap Considerations
Iguodala has a $15 million team option for 2021-2022, and if the Heat decline that option he will be an unrestricted free agent with a $22.5 million cap hold and full Bird rights. Since the 2021 free agent class is now looking less strong, there's a better chance the Heat decide to remain over the cap and bring back most of their team, rather than use cap space. However, with Bam Adebayo's max extension kicking in and Duncan Robinson set to get a big raise, the luxury tax could become a concern for Miami.

If the Heat opt in on Iguodala or re-sign him, it could cost them a lot in luxury tax penalties depending on what happens with their other free agents.  Therefore, other teams will have a legitimate shot at signing Iguodala away from Miami without having to make him a huge offer.

Other teams will have multiple ways to sign Iguodala as even teams without cap space could possibly use either of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or possibly even the Room MLE to sign him. There's even a chance that Iguodala could be had for the minimum, especially if he wants to join a contender.

Potential Teams: Warriors, Heat, Trailblazers, Suns, Nets

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $5.9 million with the Warriors.

Actual Contract: 1-year, $2.6 million ($1.7 million cap hit) with the Warriors.

I thought the Warriors might give Iguodala the Taxpayer MLE, but they were able to save some luxury tax money by signing him to a minimum contract.
