Summary
Hood had some big moments in the 2019 playoffs, mostly spotting up around Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, but since then his career has been stalled by injuries. Hood missed the entire '19-'20 season after tearing his Achilles, and struggled this past season, shooting a career low 31% from three, and he didn't shoot much better from other areas of the court. If age and injuries have sapped some of Hood's athleticism, which was never elite to begin with, he may struggle to be a valuable rotational player.

Hood's career will mostly come down to the rate he hits outside shots, but he does have other skills. Hood has the potential to be a very good secondary ball handler, as he is patient in the pick-and-roll and can use the snake dribble to create shots. However, he is limited by his ability to make plays for others, and has always played smaller than he appears on defense.

Cap Considerations
Hood's $10.9 million salary for 2021-2022 is non-guaranteed, and if he is waived he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Raptors will have no form of Bird rights on him.

If Hood becomes a free agent, other teams will have multiple ways to sign him as even teams without cap space could possibly use either of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or possibly even the Room MLE to sign him. There's even the chance he only gets minimum offers this summer.

Potential Teams: Wizards, Celtics, Pelicans, 76ers, Bulls

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $5 million with the Wizards.

Actual Contract: 1-year, $2.2 million ($1.7 million cap hit) with the Bucks.

I thought Hood might be able to get a little more than the minimum, but I wasn't surprised when he settled for the minimum to sign with the Bucks considering his recent performance and injury history.
