Summary
Last year, I didn't even do a free agency preview for Haslem because I expected him to retire. Instead, the Heat re-signed Haslem for another one-year minimum contract. He only played in one game this season (hilariously getting rejected in three minutes), and only in 20 total games since over the past four season. At this point in his career, Haslem is more of a coach than he is a player, and I expect him to retire this offseason, finishing an 18-year long career with the Heat.
Cap Considerations
Haslem will be an unrestricted free agent with a $1.7 million cap hold and Full Bird rights. Let's be real - either the Heat will re-sign Haslem on another one-year minimum deal, or he will retire.
Potential Teams: Heat
Predicted Contract: Retire
If he doesn't retire: 1-year, $2.6 million ($1.7 million cap hit) with the Heat
Actual Contract: 1-year, $2.6 million ($1.7 million cap hit) with the Heat
Haslem signed another one-year minimum contract with Miami, as he continues his "playing" career.
