Summary
Johnson is a combo guard that provides some solid playmaking and shooting. However, Johnson's ability to play either guard spot is dependent on who he plays with. Due to his size, he's not big enough to slow down some of the bigger shooting guards in the league. He's also not the type of athlete you want guarding the elite point guards.

Johnson's shooting numbers have gone down over the years, as his three point percentage has steadily decreased from 38% in '16-'17 to 28% this past season. After being waived by the Suns in February, Johnson did not get an offers until he was signed by the Nets as a replacement player in the Orlando bubble, where he played surprisingly well. He may not have had interest when he was waived in February, but I think he showed enough in Orlando to get a guaranteed minimum contract.

Cap Considerations
Johnson was waived by the Suns in February and while he did sign a contract with Brooklyn as a replacement player in Orlando, the Nets will not have any form of Bird rights for Johnson. As such, Johnson will enter free agency as if he never signed the contract with Brooklyn. Johnson is likely to only get offers at the minimum this offseason.
Potential Teams: Nets, Hawks, Clippers, Timberwolves, Magic
Predicted Contract: 1-year, $2.1 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with the Magic
Actual Contract: 1-year, $2.1 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with the Nets

As expected, Johnson got a fully guaranteed contract, but just for the minimum, as he ended up returning to the team where he looked his best since his days in Miami
