Summary
Thomas once again settled for a minimum contract last summer, and is still feeling the effects of poor timing in regards to free agency. If Thomas would have been a free agent in 2016, he certainly would have gotten a long-term max offer. If he was in free agent in 2017, he still likely would have got a massive contract, despite there being some concern regarding his health.

Thomas fell out of the rotation in his last two stops in Denver and Washington, and has been extremely inefficient when he was played. His 41.1% eFG% in '18-'19 was at the bottom of the league, per Cleaning the Glass, and while he showed improvement in Washington, he was still below average in this area.

Time is running out for Thomas to show that he still belongs in the NBA, but he may get some minimum-level offers this offseason if teams with a need at backup point guard think he can contribute.

Cap Considerations
Thomas was waived by the Clippers in February after being traded from the Wizards, and did not sign another NBA contract. After being an All-Star and All-NBA player just three years ago, Thomas's time in the NBA may be over.

Potential Teams: Hornets, Mavericks, Hawks, Pistons, Magic

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $2.3 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with Hornets

Actual Contract: N/A

As of the start of the regular season, Thomas remains unsigned despite reports of him being healthier than recent years.
