Summary
Labissiere was once a high-profile prospect, as he was considered to have top-pick potential going into his freshman season at Kentucky in 2015. However, Skal failed to produce at Kentucky and dropped to the 28th pick in the 2016 draft. Through four seasons in the league, Labissiere has shown flashes of potential, but has yet to establish himself as someone that belong in the NBA.
Skal is a skilled big that can face up and shoot over defenders. However, he hasn't developed the range to be a legitimate pick-and-pop threat, and isn't the athlete to be a vertical threat in the pick-and-roll either. If Skal can increase his range and learn to use his length to become a better rim protector, he will have a place in the NBA.

Cap Considerations
Labissiere will be a restricted free agent with a $7 million cap hold and a $3.5 million Qualifying Offer. The Hawks are unlikely to tender Labissiere the QO, as he has not proven to worth a $3.5 million contract at this point. This will make Lasbissiere an unrestricted free agent, and the Hawks would have his full Bird Rights to re-sign him. However, removing Labissiere's cap hold would increase their cap space.
For other teams, Labissere will be available to almost any team, especially considering his salary will likely fit within any of the Mid-Level Exceptions, the Bi-Annual Expcetion, or possibly even the minimum.
Potential Teams: Raptors, Heat, Pistons, Thunder, Hornets
Predicted Contract: 1-year, $1.7 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with the Raptors
Actual Contract: 1-year, $1.7 million (non-guaranteed) with the Knicks
Labissiere signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Knicks, and was waived prior to the start of the regular season, so he will spend this season in the G League.
