Summary

Korver's market seems to be pretty clear at this stage of his career, as any remaining contracts he will sign will likely be one-year minimum contracts.

Despite still being an elite shooter, Korver struggled to contribute for the Jazz in the playoffs last year despite his team being in desperate need for shooting, and it will be interesting to see if that repeats itself in Milwaukee. He doesn't have quite the same juice moving off the ball, and his struggles defensively. Korver has never been a great defender, but in his prime was able to use his high basketball IQ to at least be in the right position defensively.

Due to the Bucks' depth, it's unlikely he will get heavy minutes when the games matter most. It's hard to blame him, considering he's 39 years old, but Korver's time in the NBA may be coming to an end soon.

Cap Considerations

Korver will be an unrestricted free agent with a $1.6 million cap hold and Non-Bird Rights. This means that the highest starting salary the Bucks could offer him using the Non-Bird Exception is $3.1 million. This could be enough to retain Korver, since he settled for the minimum of $2.6 million to come to Milwaukee. Alternatively, the Bucks could use their Mid-Level Exception or Bi-Annual Exception to re-sign Korver if he demands more than $3.1 million.

Other teams will have multiple ways to sign Korver as even teams without cap space could possibly use any of the Non-Taxpayer, Taxpayer, or Room Mid-Level Exceptions to sign him. Since he signed a minimum contract this summer, teams will hope to get him at the minimum next summer too.

Potential Teams: Bucks, 76ers, Rockets, Warriors, Pacers

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $2.6 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with the Bucks

Actual Contract: N/A

As of the start of the regular season, Korver remains unsigned, and it's likely his NBA career is over
