The Clippers got a steal in trading Mike Muscala for Zubac at the trade deadline. Not only because of his talent and upside, but because he will be a restricted free agent with an only $1.9M Qualifying Offer and $2.9M cap hold.

Zubac will be in a tough position this summer, as offer sheets in the $6-$10M range are very rare, which is the salary he will be shooting for. Zubac could benefit by being renounced by the Clippers and becoming an unrestricted free agent, but don't expect the Clippers to do that unless they need to squeeze every bit of cap space they can muster this summer.

Potential Teams: Clippers, Hawks, Grizzlies, Bulls

Predicted Contract: 2-year, $8 million with the Clippers

*Actual Contract: 4-year, $28.5 million with the Clippers.

The Clippers showed real faith in Zubac by giving him this contract. As a restricted free agent, the Clippers could have really played hardball with Zubac, and it's unclear whether another team would have signed him to an offer sheet at this level.
