Johnson's value couldn't be much lower, as he has failed to live up to the expectations that the Pistons had when they drafted him 8th overall (ahead of Justise Winslow and Devin Booker) in 2015.

If the Pelicans want to make Johnson a restricted free agent this summer, they will have to tender him a $4.5 million Qualifying Offer. Based on Johnson's playing time in New Orleans, I wouldn't expect them to give him the Qualifying Offer, so Johnson will likely end up an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Potential Teams: Heat, Pelicans, 76ers, Hornets, Grizzlies

Predicted Contract: 2-year, $3.7 million (player option) with the Heat

*Actual Contract: 2-year, $7.4 million (2nd year player option) with the Raptors.

I didn't expect Johnson to get more than the minimum, so the Raptors showed some real faith in him giving him not only the full Bi-Annual Exception, but a player option to go along with it.
