With Dante Exum missing most of the season due to injury, Neto has been the primary backup point guard for Utah. Unfortunately for the Jazz, Neto has also struggled with injuries this season, appearing in less than half of his team's games.

Neto is a serviceable backup, as he makes few mistakes and is a better defender than he looks. He can't create offense in one-on-one situations, but if the defense ignores him enough, he can hit shots and finish at the rim at a reasonable rate. Neto's $2.1 million salary for next season becomes guaranteed on July 6th, so the Jazz will see what they can do in free agency before deciding if they will waive Neto.

Because of Exum's continued health struggles and the low likelihood of Utah signing a big-name free agent, I actually expect Neto to not hit free agency this summer.

Potential Teams: Jazz, Hornets, 76ers, Wizards, Trailblazers

Predicted Contract: $2.2 million (not waived) by Jazz.

If waived: 2-year, $5 million with the Hornets

*Actual Contract: $1.7 million ($1.6 million cap hit) with the 76ers.

I thought Neto could get a little more than the minimum, but it appears teams view him as a third point guard rather than a backup, which probably depends on his situation. On a team like the 76ers with championship aspirations, a minimum contract makes sense, as Neto is unlikely to contribute in the playoffs.
