Millsap has a $30 million team option for next season, which seemed likely to be declined by the Nuggets, but maybe less so after showing in the playoffs how important he is to their success. One thing the Nuggets will have to consider is if declining Millsap's team option will create any bad blood with their starting power forward, or if bringing him back would still be a possibility.

Millsap has been limited by injuries since joining Denver, and hasn't played at the level he did in Atlanta, but still has been a solid part of the Nuggets' much-improved defense and had some big moments on offense in the playoffs. At age 34, Millsap will be looking to get one final solid contract, and preferably a long-term one.

Denver can create up to $17.5 million in cap space if they renounce both Millsap and Trey Lyles. If the Nuggets don't think they use this cap space to adequately replace Millsap, they might just forego cap space and not decline his team option for next season.

I think the Nuggets will not decline his option. But if they do - I think the Nuggets will be unable to find a replacement better than Millsap. They will then try to re-sign Millsap, who will be hesitant since they just cost him $30 million. But the Nuggets will offer a one-year, $20 million contract, much higher than any other offer, at least on a per-year basis, and Millsap will return to Denver.

Potential Teams: Nuggets, Kings, Pacers, Nets

Predicted Contract: Nuggets exercise team option

If he becomes a free agent: 1-year, $20 million with the Nuggets

*The Nuggets exercised their team option on the final year of Millsap's contract, so he never hit free agency
