McCaw had an interesting offseason last summer, refusing to take the Qualifying Offer from the Warriors while also striking out in restricted free agency. It led to a standoff until the Cavaliers bailed out McCaw by signing him to a non-guaranteed 2-year, $6 million contract. While the McCaw-Cavs relationship didn't last long, McCaw was able to stick in Toronto, but with a very limited role.

Ironically, he probably got fewer minutes than he would had he stayed in Golden State. McCaw hasn't developed enough of an offense game to live up to the potential he showed as a rookie, and I don't expect him to have much demand in free agency, especially being a restricted free agent again if Toronto tenders him a $1.9 million Qualifying Offer.

Potential Teams: Raptors, 76ers, Jazz, Pistons, Heat

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $1.9 million with the Raptors

*Actual Contract: 2-year, $8 million with the Raptors.

If Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green stayed in Toronto, the Raptors may have played hardball with McCaw in order to get him at a lower salary and keep their luxury tax bill low. Since the Raptors lost their starting wings, money was not as much of a concern, and they gave McCaw a contract significantly above his minimum.
