After being named an All-Star in 2017, Jordan's game has declined and he is no longer one of the top big men in the league. He doesn't protect the rim like he used to, nor is he the vertical lob threat that he was in Los Angeles.
Jordan is still probably a starting-caliber center, but it will have to be the right situation, which Jordan will have a hard time finding this summer. The Lakers striking out in free agency and signing Jordan to a one-year contract seems very true to character for both parties. Don't be surprised if Jordan "settles" for the Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception of $5.7 million with a contender.
Potential Teams: Lakers, Knicks, Rockets, Warriors
Predicted Contract: 1-year, $10 million with the Lakers.
*Actual Contract: 4-year, $40 million with the Nets.

I was surprised to see Jordan get a long-term contract at this value, but the Nets wanted to do whatever they could to get Kevin Durant, which likely included giving this contract to Jordan.
