Before the season Irving went out of his way to say that he wanted to stay in Boston. As the season progressed and the Celtics underperformed relative to expectations, rumors of Irving's interest in New York spiked, and those rumors have now shown Brooklyn to be the clear frontrunner.

Despite the season ending in disappointment, I didn't expect Boston to be reluctant in giving Irving the full 5-year $190 million max, but based on recent news they have all but conceded that Irving is leaving.

If Irving decides to leave Boston, he could join another team on a 4-year, $141 million max, which isn't that much of a difference unless Kyrie is worried about really falling off by that 5th year.

Potential Teams: Nets, Knicks, Lakers, Clippers, Celtics

Predicted Contract: 4-year (with player option), $140.6 million, with Nets

*Actual Contract: 4-year (with player option), $136.5 million, with Nets.

Just under the full 4-year max with a player option, with some unlikely incentives that need to be met in order to get to the full max.
