Gibson will be 34 this summer, so teams will be hesitant to give him a long-term offer. Gibson is still a solid player, and he has even added the corner 3 to his game this season. And although he hasn’t shot many threes, he's hitting at a decent rate, and expect him to shoot more next season in order to stay on the floor next to centers.

He will have some leverage over the Timberwolves, as they will have no means to replace him should he choose to go elsewhere. Minnesota will probably look to keep Gibson, but they won't want to pay the luxury tax, so they could get priced out if Gibson gets a big offer from another team.

Potential Teams: Timberwolves, Trailblazers, Pacers, Lakers, Suns

Predicted Contract: 2-year, $10 million with the Timberwolves

*Actual Contract: 2-year, $18.5 million (2nd year $1 million guaranteed) with the Knicks.

Like most of the Knicks' signings this summer, I thought this was a bit of an overpay. However, it's not a huge number and the Knicks can be done with this contract after one year with minimal dead salary.
