Gay has been solid for the Spurs over the last two seasons, as he still can create shots for himself and defend at a reasonable level. He shot well from three this season, hitting 41% overall and 48% from the corners. The Spurs won't have cap space this summer, so look for them to return Gay at a reasonable rate. Gay has had success in San Antonio, and unless he wants to chase a championship, look for him to stay with the Spurs this summer.
Potential Teams: Spurs, Lakers, Nets, Clippers, Rockets, Nuggets
Predicted Contract: 1-year, $12 million with the Spurs
*Actual Contract: 2-year, $29 million with the Spurs.
I did not expect Gay to get this much, but the Spurs did lack some leverage as they would not have had cap space even if Gay walked away.
