Teams should be wary of Thomas Bryant, as it could be another story of a guy turning short term success into an overpay. Bryant has played well for the Wizards this season, and met the starter critera, which raises his Qualifying Offer to $3M.

I don't expect Bryant to be signed early in free agency. Bryant will look for a big offer sheet from another team, but teams will be hesistant to offer him anything too sizeable, and feel it's not worth signing him to a mid-level type contract if the Wizards will just match it.

The Wizards will have a lot of free agents this summer, and will focus on youth, upside, and remaining under the luxury tax.

Potential Teams: Wizards, Hawks, 76ers

Predicted Contract: 2-year, $6 million with the Wizards

*Actual Contract: 3-year, $25 million with the Wizards.

I thought this was one of the biggest overpays of the summer. While Bryant has some scoring ability, it's unclear what his role would be on a really good team. Although the number isn't that high, I could see the Wizards regretting this one.
