As Ariza will be 34 soon, he'll be hoping for one last long-term contract. Ariza did not play as well as the Suns and Wizards have hoped, failing to help them reach the playoffs (although that obviously cannot all be put on Ariza).

Ariza's presence was surely missed by the Rockets, whose defense worsened significantly this season. Ariza can still defend and shoot at a reasonable rate, despite struggling from three this season, especially with the Wizards. Because of his age, teams will be hesistant to give him a big offer, but he should still get a good amount of interest in free agency.

Potential Teams: Lakers, Wizards, Kings, Clippers, Nets

Predicted Contract: 1-year, $9 million with the Lakers,

*Actual Contract: 2-year, $25 million (2nd year partially-guaranteed) with the Kings.

I was not surprised to see Ariza get a short-term contract due to his age and declining abilities. The Kings paid slightly more than I would have, but getting a partially-guaranteed second year helps.
